About the artist / blacksmith -
I was born and raised in Northern California. Looking for a change from the big city life my wife and I moved to Wilmington, NC in 1987. I have enjoyed working with metal all my life and have been employed as a machinist for over 40 years.
Being a metalworker for most of my life I was naturally drawn to the artistry of blacksmithing.
I took my first blacksmithing class in 2004 at John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and have been in love with the art of moving and shaping hot steel ever since. I have been back to the Folk school twice and continue learning my craft every day by attending blacksmithing events on the East coast.
I am a member of the national blacksmithing organization ABANA and also the North Carolina organization NCABANA.
I started Creekside Forge in 2008 and have enjoyed creating many pieces of handcrafted ornamental ironwork and distinctive furnishings for customers homes.
At Creekside Forge we create custom hand forged ironwork for the home and outdoor landscape.
We enjoy working with our customers to create that special piece to fit you're home decor.
Creekside Forge works closely with area wood and stone craftsmen to complete unique furnishings for you're home.
